The Reader’s Confession Tag

Hi, everyone! 🙂

First things first, I wasn’t actually nominated to do this tag, but it looked fun and so I decided to give it a go.

Readertag2

I would like to thank Beth @ betwixt-these-pages for encouraging me to do this tag. If you love book reviews and tags, you should visit her blog. 😀

Let’s get started!

  1. Have you ever damaged a book?
Never! I treat my books as if they were my children.
  2. Have you ever damaged a borrowed book?
Never! The people who let me borrow their books trust me with their heart and soul, and I have to respect that.
  3. How long does it take you to read a book?
During the weekdays, I usually read a chapter or two before I go to bed. However, during the weekends, I try my best to read at least two books. On an average, two to three books per week.
  4. Books that you haven’t finished?
Les Miserables by Victor Hugo, it just sits on my shelf staring at me. Also, it makes a wonderful show piece because the cover is so pretty and sophisticated.
  5. Hyped or Popular books that you don’t like?
    Please don’t hate me…
The Princess Diaries series by Meg Cabot.
Bridget Jones’s Diary by Helen Fielding.
  6. Is there a book you wouldn’t tell anyone you were reading?
Not really, I think I’m pretty open with my book choices. Hence, I don’t mind sharing them with others.
  7. How many books do you own?
I don’t really have an exact count of how many books I own because some of them are on my shelf and others are stacked up in my cupboard.
  8. Are you a fast reader or a slow reader?
Definitely, a fast one if I’m enjoying the book. On the contrary, if I’m not really into the book, I drag it on for a little longer.
  9. Do you like to buddy read?
Well, I haven’t really buddy-read before, but I guess it would be fun.
  10. Do you read better in your head or out loud?
Most of the time I read the P.O.V’s of different characters in their voice. So, if I were to do that out loud, people would think I’m crazy, haha. I’m sure I’m not the only one who reads this way, right…?
  11. If you were allowed to own one book, what would it be and why?
I’m going to have to agree with Beth on this one. Kindle is a very smart and practical answer because it is technically one book with millions of sub-books in it. 😉

I tag everyone to do this! If you’re interested in doing this tag, feel free to let me know in the comments section below. I would love to read your answers. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading my confessions!

I’m buddy-reading for the first time, we chose Crown of Midnight and it’s quite fun 🙂
I tend not to lend my books, and none of my friends have books that interest me haha!

I love that you chose Kindle as an answer, I would have to agree with you on that. It’s one little e-reader with millions of books!

*standing ovation* yay for agreeing with me. People really should do that much more often; I’m usually right. 😉

Haha seriously though, thank you for playing along! Your answers are great.

I want to do the tag…sounds like fun. Never done a tag before … Is it like ‘tag…you’re it’ and I just answer those questions? Got no idea Jouksa…so you are going to have to help me out? How do I particularly in this tag? 😀

Sure, consider yourself tagged! Yes, it’s something like that. You just have to follow the rules given in the post. For this particular tag, you just have to answer the same questions as I did. 😀

What a great tag! I’m a massive book lover too! I recently started a book club with some friends, and it is one of the best things I’ve done this year. It’s good because it gets you to pick up books that you might not otherwise pick up, and its really nice to be able to discuss a book with friends. I would definitely recommend it!

Thank You! Cheers to being massive book lovers, haha. 😀
A Book Club! Now, that’s interesting. I agree, it motivates you to read and explore new stories. 🙂

    1. Yep I have damaged a book. Used it as a piercing block to make holes in.
    2. No. Haven’t damaged a borrowed book (yet).
    3. Depends on how interesting it is. If it’s a good read… I won’t put it down. A day…two max.
    4. I never finished The Bear and The Dragon by Tom Clancy…(for some reason, it just drags on for me…)every time I pick it up, I read a few sentences and put it back down. Haven’t pick it up this year.
    5. I don’t really read any hyped books…I only read 50 shades cos a friend physically put the book in my hand and was banging on about it. It’s the only hyped book I’ve ever read.
    6. Nah…I don’t read in secret. I don’t mind anyone knowing what I’m reading.
    7. I own quite a lot of books. But…I’m terrible. I chuck away books that are not mine if the books are left in my house for more than two years. I put them outside for someone else to take.
    8. I’m a fast reader apart from when reading The Bear and the Dragon.
    9. No. I do not like to buddy read at all…(I don’t know why I’m so averse…)
    10. I read better out loud.
    11. If I were allowed to own one book, it would be the Lindisfarne Gospels because it’s an illuminated manuscript, written and decorated at the end of the 7th century. I like the idea of owning a rare manuscript.

You can read two books in a weekend? Very impressive!

So you’ve never, ever, ever damaged a book? Not even by accident? Like, you’ve never accidentally placed a heavy object on the cover of a paperback and bent it horribly? 😥

Thank you! I usually read two books, but if the story is really long, then I stick to one book. 😀
Haha, well some of the books from when I was a child have a few bends on the corners of the cover, but that’s about it. 😛
