It’s not unrealistic for some people to admit that they tend to appreciate others’ for the contribution they have made to this world but rarely take the time to appreciate themselves for the work they’ve done. There is definitely a thin line between appreciating yourself and being borderline pompous. When it comes to self-appreciation, don’t feel weird to pat yourself on the back every once in a while you achieve something that you’ve been working so hard for. I’m saying this from my own experience because just the other day, I was thinking how I always focus on the things I do wrong and seldom focus on the things that I’ve accomplished.
Anyway, here are a few tips on how to appreciate yourself:
Think about all the things you’ve done this week:
Sit, relax, and look back at all the good/bad things you’ve done this week. Focus more on the good things and tell yourself that you’ve earned this. However, this doesn’t mean that you neglect the bad things, just look at it from a different perspective. 🙂
Feel like you’ve actually done something to take your lie one step further? Treat yourself to some ice cream! (That’s what I do, haha)
When someone appreciates you for your work, thank them:
Now, this happens way too often to me. When someone compliments me for my work, I tend to brush it off and say “It was no big deal, really.” But, in reality, it is a big deal otherwise why would someone compliment you in the first place…Hmm…
I hope you enjoyed reading this post!

I finally got to watch ‘Sing’ last week and I absolutely adored it!
Dapper Koala Buster Moon presides over a once-grand theater that has fallen on hard times. An eternal optimist, and a bit of a scoundrel, he loves his theater above all and will do anything to preserve it. Facing the crumbling of his life’s ambition, he takes one final chance to restore his fading jewel to its former glory by producing the world’s greatest singing competition. Five contestants emerge: a mouse, a timid elephant, a pig, a gorilla and a punk-rock porcupine.
As always, animated movies never fail to bring a smile on my face. The plot of this movie was creatively depicted as the scenes were well developed and transitioned smoothly from one to the next. The story itself is so inspiring for all audiences and especially for children because it reminds them that anything is possible. My favourite thing about the movie was its character portrayal, I loved each and every character’s personality and style.
- Dream big: Never let anyone bring you down or stop you from dreaming big.
- Hard work and perseverance is all you need: If you have the determination to work for your dreams, you will definitely achieve the glorious fruits of your effort.
- Team effort: We must learn to embrace the differences in people and work as a team to be more successful in accomplishing our tasks.
- Pursue your talent: We all have a special talent and irrespective of how big or small you think your talent is, always pursue it and try to make the most of your strength.
Overall, this was a great movie and I would definitely recommend it to all the animation movie lovers!

Today is a very special day for women all around the world. Today, we strive to celebrate womanhood in the most inspirational way. I believe that Women’s Day is about bringing together women from different backgrounds and cultures and celebrating the differences in an effort to unite them rather than to hold them against one another. ❤
Irrespective of your role, you deserve to feel special on this day. Personally, being a woman brings me a sense of pride and strength. I strongly adhere to the fact that women deserve to be treated equally and deserve the rights that they were once refrained from. On this occasion, I would like to thank all the women who have played a significant role in shaping my life and making me the woman I am today. Of course, I have had the opportunity of meeting many wonderful ladies out there who have inspired me to become a better person. However, the most inspirational woman in my life is my mother. She has been my support system since day one. Never leaving my side, she has always motivated to chase my dreams and to never give up no matter what people say. It is safe to say that her belief in me has made me stronger and confident in myself whilst keeping myself grounded. She always says that if someone says that you aren’t capable of doing something, prove them wrong by following your instincts and doing the right thing. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never learnt the virtues of respect, humility, and empathy.
All in all, I would like to thank and appreciate all the magnificent women of this world for unapologetically being yourself and contributing to the community in a positive way! 🙂

I recently purchased a few shades from the Revlon Matte Lipstick collection. Let me start off by saying that these are one of the best liquid matte lipsticks available in the market!
- Beautiful shades for every occasion: They have about 16 shades ranging from nudes to pinks and reds. If you’re looking for the perfect shade to match your style, have a look at their website. It might help! 🙂
- Long lasting: I promise you that this lipstick will not wear off that easily unless you rub it off your lips. I wore it to a day-long event last week and I was surprised at how the lipstick stayed intact.
- Moisturising: It’s amazing how this lipstick gives you a matte look but still keeps your lips from becoming too dry.
- High-definition: It gives your lips a very defined and sharp look.
One of my favorite shades is ‘Passion’. It’s a beautiful berry color that looks good with almost every outfit!
I hope you enjoyed reading this review! 🙂

I would be lying if I said that I don’t overthink anything because I do it A LOT. Here are some of the signs you’re an overthinker:
You think twice before sending a message:
You make a normal situation super difficult:
You complicate things in your head:
You take time to let go of things:
You always/mostly imagine the worst case scenario:
It drives you crazy when you’re not able to figure out something:
You over-analyze people’s actions:
Oh, well…I hope I’m not the only one who checked off all the facts on the list. In fact, one of my new year’s resolution is to reduce the amount of overthinking I do because I’ve realized that overthinking causes unnecessary stress. Also, it makes you think more about life than actually living life to the fullest!

Happy New Year to everybody! I hope all of you had an enjoyable New Year’s Eve. 😀
It’s not uncommon to hear people say the phrase “New Year, New me” because we all hope for the future year to be better than the previous one. But, how can we as individuals contribute toward a more successful 2017?
Set Realistic New Year Resolutions:
Most of us set up New Year Resolutions but we fail to keep them realistic. When you set up your new year resolutions, make sure to be as realistic and simple as possible. This way, you won’t feel demotivated because you will *hopefully* be able to achieve your listed resolutions.
Break bad habits:
Whatever habit it is that you know is bad for you, it’s time to improve! I know, I know…Breaking a habit is hard, but try your best.
Motivate yourself to be more productive:
It’s always a good idea to increase your productivity levels.
Use a planner:
I don’t know how many of you do this, but I would encourage all of you to try it out because it’s a fun way to keep track of all the things you have to do. You can even create your own DIY planner. 🙂
Want to achieve your goals? Set your mind to it from day one.
What are your ways of making the new year a successful one? Let me know in the comments section below. 😀
There are times in life when we’re so stressed out that we can’t even think straight. Being a university student, I know how that feels, and it’s right to say that STRESS KILLS! It really does. Every person has a different source of stress be it family pressure, university, parenthood, socializing, and the list goes on, but there are many ways to de-stress yourself!
Here are some of the best ways to relieve your stress:
- Deep Breathing:
Sit down. Inhale. Exhale. Repeat.
Let your hair down and dance like no one’s watching.
- Take a walk:
It feels good to go out, get some fresh air, and connect with nature.
- Laugh out loud:
Watch a funny video or talk to someone who makes you laugh. This will instantly make you feel better!
- Do what you like:
Whether it is reading a book, watching a movie, baking, if it makes you happy then do it.
- Treat yourself:
Don’t get me wrong, overeating isn’t a good way to deal with stress. But, having a dessert once in a while doesn’t hurt. 😉
I hope this post helps you get rid of all that toxic stress!

Whether you’re a fan of Gilmore girls or not, I’m pretty sure you’ve come across this title before. If you are a Gilmore Girls fan, then you definitely know what I’m talking about! The emotions that flooded through me while I was watching the four episodes were crazy. Today, I’m going to share the emotions I felt through GIFs:
I really do hope that they air more episodes because I’m always up for a Gilmore Girls marathon! If you haven’t already watched the new episodes, here’s a list of things you’ll need:
1. Comfy Sofa or Bed
2. Lots of Snacks
3. Tissue Box
5. No Distractions
Did you watch the new episodes? If yes, what were your favourite moments? Share your thoughts with me in the comments section below. 😀
Have you ever felt guilty about leaving behind an old friend? I know I have. Today, I’m going to share a personal experience with you all because that’s the best way to explain why you shouldn’t be feeling guilty about leaving behind old friends.
I thought we would be best friends from the moment we met each other. Admittedly, the experiences we shared in the past were fun-filled, but we don’t share these moments anymore.
Is it my fault? Did I do something wrong? Why do I have this guilty feeling creeping inside of me?
I went crazy trying to think of ways to prevent our friendship from breaking. I would always be the first one to text my friend, make attempts to hang out with her, but it never did work out. That’s when reality hit me: It’s over. The bond you shared earlier is no longer in existence.
If you feel like you are personally responsible for this drift. Trust me, it’s not your fault so stop beating yourself up for it. Naturally, it’s common for old friendships to dissolve gradually. Some of the reasons for this are:
a) You both have made new friends.
b) You don’t share common interests anymore.
c) You don’t feel comfortable and free around each other as you did in the past.
d) There may have been a shift in personality or attitude.
You have to realize that sometimes, friends drift apart for no concrete reason. It kills not knowing why this happens, but it’s a part of life and one should learn to move on from it.
