Cheers to 2018!

Hi, everyone! 🙂

It’s been a while since I’ve posted on the blog and I’ve missed it so much! With everything going on, it is quite challenging to make time for creating blog posts and keep up to date with everyone else. However, I’m going to try my best to post more often this new year.

A toast to 2017:
I’ll admit there were some ups and downs over the course of the year, but I’ve learned a lot during the past year. I discovered my weaknesses as a person and have decided to overcome them by doing some daily activities to help set a good routine. Secondly, self-love. I cannot stress how much this term has helped me improve my confidence and thinking pattern. I will be writing a post dedicated to this soon. Last but not least, stay focused on your goals. No matter what distractions may be happening around you, stay focused. All in all, 2017 was a good year filled with learning experiences.

Snippet-Talk It Out

The thought comes back around,
but we don’t say a word.
The feelings creep their way up,
but we bury them under.
The pain stays at the back of our minds,
but we never mention it.
The relationship broke down,
but we never got closure.

Have we lost the ability to communicate?

It’s time to get it off our chest.
To say the words,
we never thought we would say.
To answer questions,
we thought would stay unanswered.
To make connections,
we never would have made.
Talk it out.

Snippet-You Are Not Alone

I’ve decided to share something different with you all today.
There are unexpected days where I feel like writing poems that describe the way I feel. They aren’t the best, but they help me vent out my feelings so I can go by the day positively. Here’s a short one that I wrote the other day. Hope you like it! 🙂

Know that you’re not alone
It may seem like it,
but you are not alone.
They may not see through your smile.
They may disregard you at times.
They may not see your true worth.
They might not even listen.
However, there is a person out there,
drowned in the same feelings as you,
looking for their kindred spirit.

In short, this poem describes how people often consider themselves to be unimportant to others. This thought might be triggered due to a certain event that took place or it may just be the way they feel about themselves in general. I think it’s important for an individual to understand that there is always a person out there who cares about you more than you can ever imagine be it a family member, friend, or partner.

Who are they?

Bastille is a British indie band formed in 2010. The members of the band are Dan Smith, Kyle Simmons, Will Farquarson, and Chris Wood. They won themselves a Brit Award in 2014 for the “British Breakthrough Act.”

What genre of music do they produce?

The band is famous for their indie rock and indie pop songs.

Stages Of Listening To A Song

The other day I was just thinking of how my emotions toward a song change over time. So here I am, sharing my thoughts with you using gifs. 😉

  1. First impression: “Meh, it’s not that good.”

I personally enjoy purchasing home decor items because they can instantly change the vibes in a room. Most people have the idea that renovating your home can be such a tedious and costly task, but it can certainly be made simple and economical!

There are many ways in which you can completely transform the look of your home and today I’m going to share some of those tips with you. 🙂

Zara Larsson is an 18-year-old singer from Sweden. Ever since she won Talang (A Talent Show) in 2008, she has been releasing a series of songs and has also collaborated with famous singers.

She is well-known for pop and dance music genres.

Riverdale (2017 TV Series)

I’m sure most of you would have heard of the new show, Riverdale. Just to give you a little background on what the show is about, the show is based on the age-old Archie comics but with a mysterious twist as it starts off with someone’s murder.

Plot Summary:

Archie Andrews starts the school year with the world weighing on his shoulders. He’s he wants to pursue a future in the music business, but his recently ended clandestine relationship with the music teacher has left him without a mentor, and his friendship with Jughead Jones is in a bad place. Things look like they might be turning around when Veronica Lodge, a new girl, arrives. Despite the instant chemistry, Veronica is hesitant to risk a friendship with Betty — who has a crush on Archie — to pursue anything. Amidst all the small-town banality lurks a mystery: the recent tragic death of Jason Blossom, the twin brother of beautiful and popular troublemaker, Cheryl.

Review:

Archie comics was literally my childhood/teenage days. I was in love with the characters and just the overall idea of the bond that was shared between all the characters. When I heard about Riverdale, I was pretty excited to see what the show had in store for me. I really appreciate the mysterious twist that was added to the lives of the characters because that instantly intensified the show which made it more interesting. 😉

When it comes to character portrayal, I think they’ve done a great job with selecting the cast members because all of them fit the characters’ personality perfectly! It feels as if the characters from the comic book have come to life. To be honest, every episode has an intense scene that just makes you want to watch more. I don’t want to spoil anything for those of you who haven’t watched the show yet. But! If you’re looking for a show that’s a mix of romance, mystery, and friendship, then this is the perfect show for you. 😀

I cannot wait for the new episodes to air because there are so many questions that I have in mind!
