Review: The Face Shop Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam

Image result for the face shop herb day 365 cleansing foam

I recently purchased the Lemon Herb Day 365 Cleansing Foam from The Face Shop and I was very satisfied with the results.

Packaging: The packaging is a white squeeze tube with a proper click on lid which ensures that the cleansing foam doesn’t dry up easily.

Consistency: The cleansing foam has a cream like texture. Once spread evenly on your face, it become a little foamy similar to that of a soap bar.

Feel: The cleanser felt very light and refreshing on my skin. I love the lemon scent of the foam too.

Result: After washing my face with lukewarm water, my skin had a baby-like softness and looked brighter. The lemon extract helps purify your skin thereby leaving a nice glow. In fact, if you’ve got makeup on, it does a great job getting rid of the remaining makeup and dirt on your skin.

When to use: It’s best to use it at night before going to bed. Make sure to apply the cleanser on wet face. You can also apply a toner after cleansing your face.

Verdict: Overall, I am happy with the results of this cleanser and would definitely recommend it to everyone as it suitable for all skin types. 🙂

Review: L’oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation

Beauty Review
If you’re on a hunt for a good foundation, look no further!

I recently purchased the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation and I was beyond satisfied with the product.

Packaging: I like the packaging because it’s simple and easy to carry around without making a mess.

Coverage: This foundation has far by the best coverage. I have tried out many foundations in the past, but there’s something about the texture of L’Oreal’s foundation that gives you maximum coverage without weighing down your skin. Plus, it leaves a smooth finish.

Suitability: I have a combination skin type so this product worked fine for me. However, from what I’ve heard, the foundation works well with oily and acne-prone skin types too as it is matte and doesn’t add up to the oiliness of your skin.

How long did it last?
I wore this foundation in the morning to kick start my day and by the time I got home at night, the foundation was still in tact. Also, considering the fact that it’s really hot outside, the foundation didn’t come off easily even when I dabbed my face with a tissue to get rid of the sweat.

Verdict: It’s safe to say that if you’re looking for a long-lasting foundation, then this particular one is perfect for you.

I hope you enjoyed reading this review!

Review: Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor

Image result for revlon ultra hd matte lip color

I recently purchased a few shades from the Revlon Matte Lipstick collection. Let me start off by saying that these are one of the best liquid matte lipsticks available in the market!

Pros:

  1. Beautiful shades for every occasion: They have about 16 shades ranging from nudes to pinks and reds. If you’re looking for the perfect shade to match your style, have a look at their website. It might help! 🙂
  2. Long lasting: I promise you that this lipstick will not wear off that easily unless you rub it off your lips. I wore it to a day-long event last week and I was surprised at how the lipstick stayed intact.
  3. Moisturising: It’s amazing how this lipstick gives you a matte look but still keeps your lips from becoming too dry.
  4. High-definition: It gives your lips a very defined and sharp look.

One of my favorite shades is ‘Passion’. It’s a beautiful berry color that looks good with almost every outfit!

I hope you enjoyed reading this review! 🙂

What’s Your Skin Type?

skin-type-1

A skin type is determined by the overall texture and appearance of one’s skin. There are different types of skin and one of the main reasons you should know your skin type is because it will help you choose the right products for your skin. Here are some of the common skin types:

  1. Normal Skin:

This type of skin isn’t too oily nor too dry and is not very sensitive. In this case, you have barely visible pores, fairly smooth and glowing skin. For this type of skin, you can use products that are labelled ‘For all types of skin’.

  2. Oily Skin:

This type of skin tends to become oily and greasy, especially around your nose, cheeks, and forehead. Your face tends to produce more oil than necessary which can produce more blackheads and pimples. For this type of skin, it’s best to use products that have an oil eliminating and cleansing property.

  3. Dry Skin:

In this case, your skin tends to dry up very quickly and doesn’t maintain the necessary amount of oil which tends to make your skin rough and dull. Your skin also tends to become flaky and itchy from time to time. For this type of skin, it’s best to use products that have a moisturizing property.

  4. Sensitive Skin:

If your skin is prone to allergies, acne, and other rashes, then you’ve got a sensitive skin. You have to be extremely careful of the products you use or else there may be negative effects. For this type of skin, it’s best to stick to natural and organic products because they contain less chemicals.

  5. Combination Skin:

If you have a mix of oily and normal skin types, then you’ve got a combination skin. Your T-zone (Forehead, nose, and chin) tends to produce more oil than the rest of your face which makes your face look shiny. Since I have this type of skin, I’ve realized that it’s best to use products that are specially designed for combination skin, especially when it comes to cleansers and toners.

I hope you found this post useful!

Ultra Doux: Mythic Olive Hair Care Range

Image result for ultra doux olive mythique range

I recently tried out Ultra Doux’s Mythic Olive Hair Care Range, and I was very happy with the results. All the products in this range have one key ingredient that is super beneficial for hair nutrition and growth and that is, olive oil! Plus, the fragrance is amazing.

  1. Mythic Olive Shampoo:
The shampoo works wonders for those who have problems with weighed down hair. This shampoo will help you clean your hair without making it greasy. Plus, it gives your hair a beautiful shine.
  2. Mythic Olive Conditioner:
The conditioner helps repair and nourish your hair. After completing my hair wash routine, I noticed that my hair was softer than usual.
  3. Mythic Olive Intense Hair Mask:
The creamy texture of this mask works wonders, seriously! I would recommend you to use the hair mask instead of the conditioner if you have dry hair because it restores the shine of your hair and softens it.
  4. Mythic Olive Care Cream:
I, personally, have not used this cream. However, I’ve heard that it’s good for when you want to use any heated instruments on your hair.

I hope you found this post useful!

Best Hair Serums

Perfect that hair flip!

Do you straighten or curl your hair often?
Then, you should probably apply some hair serum to protect your hair from further damage. Also, it is advisable to apply a drop of hair serum after you wash your hair.
Hair serums are not only protective but also give your hair a beautiful shine!

Some of my favorite hair serums are:

  1. Kerastase Nutritive Hair Serum:

The best thing about this serum is that it isn’t too oily and has an anti-frizz property. For those who face constant hair tangling, appying this serum will ease out all the hair knots and keep your hair tangle-free and frizz-free.
  2. Ultra Doux Honey Treasures Hair Serum:
I would highly recommend this serum for everyday use. It gives your hair a soft and natural look. Plus, it smells so good!
  3. Avon Moroccan Argan Oil Hair Serum:

This serum has one of the best ingredients for instant hair shine, which is Argan Oil. If you live in a dry or humid place, then you should try this serum because it will prevent your hair from looking dull and dry.

What’s your favorite hair serum? Let me know in the comments section below. 🙂

Best Ways to Remove Makeup

Image result for removing makeup gif

I always make it a point to clean my face properly before going to bed because I hate sleeping with my makeup on. Some of the reasons why it’s advised not to sleep with your makeup on:
a) It causes the breakdown of healthy collagen, which results in fine lines on your skin.
b) Your pores get clogged.
c) It develops acne-causing bacteria on your skin. This results in more breakouts.
d) It can cause irritation and rashes on your skin.
e) It can result in blackheads and dullness of skin.

Anyway, here are some of the best ways to remove your makeup:
  1. Baby Wipes:
If you have sensitive or acne-prone skin, then you should consider using baby wipes to remove your makeup since it is soft and safe to use as it is mainly used for cleaning babies.
  2. Milk:
Another effective and natural way to remove your makeup is by dabbing some milk onto a cotton pad and rubbing it all over your face. In addition to that, milk also helps smooth your skin.
  3. Coconut Oil:
For water-resistant makeup, coconut oil is the best solution as it easily wipes off your makeup without burning or irritating your skin. You can apply it onto a cotton pad or directly apply it using your hands.
  4. Olive Oil:
If you have dry skin, you can make use of olive oil to remove your makeup because it has softening as well as brightening agents.
  5. Vaseline:
This is the best way to remove eye makeup because it slides off the mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow easily.

Make sure to clean your face with a cleanser suitable to your skin after using any of these methods. There are many cleansers available in the market for different skin types such as combination skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, oily skin, and so much more!
