One Year Blogiversary!

unique fun Things to Do on New Year's Eve

The Jouska turns one year old today! Whaaat?!

I can’t believe that I have been running my blog for one year already! Time passes by so quickly. I still remember the day I started my blog like it was yesterday. It has definitely been a rollercoaster ride filled with ups and downs. One of the best things about having your very own blog is that you feel like you have a place in this world and that people are interested in what you have to say. Blogging has definitely encouraged me to speak up more and stand for what I believe is right. It has helped me gain the confidence that I never thought I would have, it sounds crazy but it’s true. This platform has given me the opportunity to make new friends who have supported me and motivated me to stay active on my blog. Inevitably, there are the dreaded blogging slump days when you just have nothing to say and you’ve run out of creative ideas, but that is okay because as time passes by, you return back with a whole lot of positive energy and creativity. All in all, I want to thank each and every one of my readers for taking out the time to read my blog posts and interacting with me because that always make me smile like a goof, haha!

Here’s a little insight on what has happened over the past year:

Blog statistics (3)

I believe that ‘The Jouska’ has grown over the past 12 months and that would not have been possible without the support of my wonderful readers and bloggers. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey. Here’s to one more year of blogging! 😀

In celebration of this milestone, I would like to hear from you guys! If you have anything to say about your favourite category of posts or if you have any suggestions, feel free to let me know in the comments section below. 🙂

THANK YOUUUU!

Happy International Women’s Day

women

Today is a very special day for women all around the world. Today, we strive to celebrate womanhood in the most inspirational way. I believe that Women’s Day is about bringing together women from different backgrounds and cultures and celebrating the differences in an effort to unite them rather than to hold them against one another.

Irrespective of your role, you deserve to feel special on this day. Personally, being a woman brings me a sense of pride and strength. I strongly adhere to the fact that women deserve to be treated equally and deserve the rights that they were once refrained from. On this occasion, I would like to thank all the women who have played a significant role in shaping my life and making me the woman I am today. Of course, I have had the opportunity of meeting many wonderful ladies out there who have inspired me to become a better person. However, the most inspirational woman in my life is my mother. She has been my support system since day one. Never leaving my side, she has always motivated to chase my dreams and to never give up no matter what people say. It is safe to say that her belief in me has made me stronger and confident in myself whilst keeping myself grounded. She always says that if someone says that you aren’t capable of doing something, prove them wrong by following your instincts and doing the right thing. If it wasn’t for her, I would have never learnt the virtues of respect, humility, and empathy.

All in all, I would like to thank and appreciate all the magnificent women of this world for unapologetically being yourself and contributing to the community in a positive way! 🙂

Who’s the most influential woman in your life? Share your thoughts with me in the comments section below. 😀

Hi, everyone! 🙂

I’m a little late, but it’s better late than never…

9th-milestone

Once again, my readers and fellow blogging friends have helped me achieve a milestone that has doubled my motivation, inspiration, and optimism. I’m so excited to share with you all that I have now crossed 900 AMAZING followers! A BIG THANK YOUUU to each and every one of my readers for supporting me throughout my blogging journey and for letting me know that you enjoy reading my posts and find them useful. When I read the comments that you all put forward, it sure does bring a wide smile on my face. (Also, achieving such milestones makes me go a little crazy, in a good way, of course.) 😀

To celebrate this milestone, I thought I’d share a few tips on how I made the best of blogging:

  1. Initially, it was difficult for me to blog regularly, but I set a schedule and that helped me post more consistently.
  2. Brainstorm ideas! Writing on topics that you’re passionate about will make you and your readers happy. It’s a win-win situation.
  3. Everyone goes through a blogging slump, and that’s perfectly okay.
  4. Last but not least, it’s awesome being a part of the blogging community because you get to know some fantastic people!

Let me end this post on a grateful note, thank you so much for helping me achieve this milestone! You guys are the best!

Happy Father’s Day!

Happy Father’s Day to all the brave fathers out there!

My father is a courageous and hard-working man. He always makes sure to fulfil his family duties and ensures that we are all happy. Despite facing a few struggles here and there, he never gave up. He fought because he believed that taking care of his family was his prime responsibility, and I appreciate him for that.

As a child, we used to spend a lot of time together, playing games, sports and doing other fun things. As I grew up, I admired my father’s work ethic and punctuality. No matter how tired or stressed he is, he’ll keep going. He always says, “The golden fruit you bear is the result of all your hard work. There’s a time for everything.”
The one father-daughter bonding thing that we do is giving life advice to each other. He does most of the work, but I contribute a little too, haha. I can proudly say that his advice has helped me so far in life and I’m sure it will be of greater help in the future. 🙂

Sure, we argue sometimes about irrelevant things like ‘Going to the dealer is such a rip-off’ and ‘I could’ve done that for you’ and so on. But, in the end, we forgive each other and just go back to the way things were.

Undoubtedly, I love a lot of things about my father. However, if I had to choose what I love most about him, it would be his determination and hard-working personality. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me, dad. I love you!

What do you love most about your father? Share your thoughts with me in the comments section below. 😀

3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge: Day 1

Hi, everyone! 🙂

I’ve been nominated for the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge. Since I love quotes, I’m quite excited about this challenge.

Before I start, I would like to thank Nazmin for the nomination. If you like posts that are creative and inspiring, then you should visit her blog. 😀

Rules:

  1. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  2. Post three quotes on three consecutive days.
  3. Nominate three new bloggers every day.

Today’s Quote:

Why I love this quote?
Marilyn Monroe always went after what she wanted. Of course, she was very successful in her career, but some people envied her success and despised her for it. From my personal experiences, I can say that envy is something that can kill you. I’ve seen envious people pull other successful people down just so they can feel better about themselves.
Sad, isn’t it? I’m not the kind of person who gets jealous of someone else’s achievements, in fact, I celebrate along with them. If people started appreciating other’s on their success rather than hating them for it, the world would be a happier place. 🙂

Nominees:
Honestly, I don’t know who to nominate for this challenge. If any of you are interested in doing the 3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge, feel free to let me know in the comments section below!

What are your thoughts on this quote? Share your opinion with me in the comments section below. 🙂

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hi, everyone! 🙂

I’ve been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award.
award.png

Before I start, I would like to thank Sadaptation for nominating me. You should visit her blog because she posts some pretty creative and interesting articles. 😀

Rules:

  1. Write a post to show your award.
  2. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Give a brief story of how you started your blog.
  4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  5. Nominate 15 bloggers who deserve the award.

How did I start my blog?

Well, to be honest, it was a decision that I made after a lot of self-debate. Even though I had an interest in blogging, there was something holding me back and that something was fear. I was confused, to say the least. I kept asking myself questions like:
Where should I start?
What should I write about?
Will people like my blog? and so on.
Sooner or later, I realized that I had to stop being such a wimp and just go for it. Maybe, it was my sudden surge of confidence that motivated me to start ‘The Jouska’ blog. I’m glad that I made that choice because I really enjoy being in the blogging community now. Also, I’m not very chatty in the real world, so having a blog gives me a way to express myself freely without any judgement.

My advice to new bloggers:

  1. Never be afraid of the outcome:
I know it’s hard to start something you’ve never done before. It’s scary. However, when it comes to blogging, don’t be afraid of what others think of your blog. You are the creator of your blog and there’s no one to stop you. Maybe your blog won’t do very well in the initial stage, but trust me, it will get better with time. Anyway, my point is, fear is your worst enemy so don’t let that get to you. Don’t think about what other people have to say, always be confident and sure of what you do.
  2. Be consistent:
Always make it a point to post as regularly as possible. If it’s difficult for you to post something new every day, then follow a consistent timetable. I’ve seen bloggers come and go because they get bored of their blog and end up deleting it. Remember one thing, your hard work will pay-off in the end. 🙂

*Drum Roll Please* I would like to nominate the following bloggers:

I hope that my piece of advice helps you find your way in the blogging community.
Congrats to all the nominees! I’m looking forward to reading your answers.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the lovely mothers out there!

My mother has always been an inspiration to me. She’s an amazing human being.
She has the youthful vigor and vitality of a young girl and hopefully, I’ll be like her when I grow old. The funny thing is, when we go out together, most people think that we’re sisters, haha.

More than being a strict mother, she’s like a best friend to me. She always supports me no matter what. She always puts a smile on my face. Whenever I’m feeling down, she talks to me and tells me that everything’s going to be alright and that she’s always going to stand by my side. She always tries to do her best for me and my sister. She’ll go to any extent to make sure that we’re living a happy and healthy life. Her love and compassion always put me at comfort.

Since we both share common interests and character traits, we get along with each other just fine. We both love eating, shopping, reading, cooking and the list is endless. I guess I’m following her footsteps.

Sometimes, I get annoyed and upset with her for not allowing me to do certain things or get into small fights and arguments with her, but sooner or later I realize that what she says is best for me. You know what they say, mother’s are always right. 🙂

Undoubtedly, I love a lot of things about my mother. However, if I had to choose what I love most about her, it would be her charismatic personality and her willpower. Thank you for all that you’ve done for me, mom. I love you!

What do you love most about your mother? Share your thoughts with me in the comments section below. 😀
