The Happiness Tag

Hi, everyone! 🙂

Turn that frown upside down because it’s time to be happy thanks to this positive tag.

Before I start, I would like to thank Marie for encouraging me to do this tag. She posts great stuff about books, travel, food and much more. Do visit her blog! 😀

The Rules:

  1. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  2. List five things that make you happy.
  3. List five songs that make you happy.
  4. Nominate five bloggers to do the tag.

Five Things that make me happy:

  1. Reading Books:

I love reading, obviously. Books are like my friends. They accompany me when I’m sad or happy, and they help me detach from the outside world.
  2. Chocolate:

I know most of you are aware of my chocolate addiction. But, I can never leave chocolate out of my Happiness list! I love anything that involves chocolate be it cookies, cakes, fondue and the list is endless.
  3. Family:

I love my family because they’re great people. They’ve always been supportive of me. I don’t know what I’d do without them, and as cheesy as that sounds, it’s true.
  4. Blogging:

I’ve only started blogging a few months ago, but all the love and support from my fellow bloggers has made it even more fun and motivational.
  5. Travelling:

I love travelling to different parts of the world and exploring new places, new cultures, and meeting new people. The thought of travelling just makes me so happy.

Five Songs that make me happy:

  1. Modern Talking-Brother Louie

The is one of those songs that I’d listen to on a road trip and smile like a fool, haha.
  2. Cyndi Lauper-Girls Just Want To Have Fun

This is such a feel-good song. The beat of this song just makes me want to get up and dance around my bedroom!
  3. American Authors-Best Day of My Life

From the lyrics to the beat, everything about this song screams positivity.
  4. Taylor Swift-Shake It Off

Shake it off! Shake it off! This is what I say to my haters and laugh it off.
  5. Pharrell Williams-Happy

How can I forget this song? The song title itself spreads happiness.

This tag will surely bring a smile to your face. Hence, I tag everyone to do it! If in case you decide to do the tag, feel free to let me know in the comments section below. I would love to read your answers. 🙂

I hope you enjoyed reading my answers!

3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge: Day 3

I’m not going to lie, choosing only three of my favorite quotes has been quite challenging for me.

Since it’s my last day of doing the challenge, I’ve saved the best quote for the last!
Today’s Quote:

Why I love this quote?
We all have dreams that we want to achieve sooner or later in life. While some people keep dreaming, others take a step forward to turn their dreams into reality. Diligence, perseverance, and commitment is all you need to achieve your dreams. It may not necessarily be as big as someone else’s dream, but it is as important as any other dream. Never underestimate the power of your mind, it can do wonders! There are many examples of famous as well as ordinary people who have gone a long way to come where they are today. Consider your favorite idol’s journey, it wasn’t smooth, was it?
I won’t hide the fact that there will be many ups and downs while you’re on your way to making your dreams come true, but in the end, it will all be worth it! 😀

As I said earlier, if you’re interested in doing the challenge, feel free to let me know in the comments section below.

What are your thoughts on dreams? Share your opinion with me in the comments section below. 🙂

3 Days, 3 Quotes Challenge: Day 2

Today’s Quote:

Why I love this Quote?
“You should talk more!” “You seem bored.”
It’s not uncommon for us introverts to hear such statements. Most people consider introverts or quiet people to be a drab. But, we’re not that boring! The thing is, most of the time, we’re preoccupied with anxious thoughts flooding in our brain. Hence, we don’t interact much with the people around us because we’re afraid that we might say something awkward. We prefer thinking rather than speaking ourselves out, and that’s perfectly okay. We also have control over what we speak, thank god for that. Moreover, I’ve noticed that a lot of quiet people are either very creative or logical. When it comes to socialising, quiet people prefer deep conversations over small talk. Remember, even if we’re quiet, we’re silently observing every move that you make, haha. 😉

As I said earlier, if you’re interested in doing the challenge, feel free to let me know in the comments section below.

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hi, everyone! 🙂

I’ve been nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award.

Before I start, I would like to thank Sadaptation for nominating me. You should visit her blog because she posts some pretty creative and interesting articles. 😀

  1. Write a post to show your award.
  2. Acknowledge the blogger who nominated you.
  3. Give a brief story of how you started your blog.
  4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
  5. Nominate 15 bloggers who deserve the award.

How did I start my blog?

Well, to be honest, it was a decision that I made after a lot of self-debate. Even though I had an interest in blogging, there was something holding me back and that something was fear. I was confused, to say the least. I kept asking myself questions like:
Where should I start?
What should I write about?
Will people like my blog? and so on.
Sooner or later, I realized that I had to stop being such a wimp and just go for it. Maybe, it was my sudden surge of confidence that motivated me to start ‘The Jouska’ blog. I’m glad that I made that choice because I really enjoy being in the blogging community now. Also, I’m not very chatty in the real world, so having a blog gives me a way to express myself freely without any judgement.

My advice to new bloggers:

  1. Never be afraid of the outcome:
I know it’s hard to start something you’ve never done before. It’s scary. However, when it comes to blogging, don’t be afraid of what others think of your blog. You are the creator of your blog and there’s no one to stop you. Maybe your blog won’t do very well in the initial stage, but trust me, it will get better with time. Anyway, my point is, fear is your worst enemy so don’t let that get to you. Don’t think about what other people have to say, always be confident and sure of what you do.
  2. Be consistent:
Always make it a point to post as regularly as possible. If it’s difficult for you to post something new every day, then follow a consistent timetable. I’ve seen bloggers come and go because they get bored of their blog and end up deleting it. Remember one thing, your hard work will pay-off in the end. 🙂

*Drum Roll Please* I would like to nominate the following bloggers:

I hope that my piece of advice helps you find your way in the blogging community.
Congrats to all the nominees! I’m looking forward to reading your answers.

Things Awkward People Do

I admit that I’m a shy person, but I’m also very awkward. The main reason behind this dilemma is me being self-conscious of everything I do. Hopefully, I’m not the only one who experiences this. :/

Anyhow, here are some things that awkward people know to be true:

  1. You awkwardly smile in group photos.
  2. You pretend to be busy on your phone when you’re alone in public just to avoid any social interaction. (We don’t want people thinking that we’re loners)
22 Things All Awkward People Know To Be True
  3. When you have nothing to say so you just let out a nervous laugh.
  4. You try to avoid eye contact because it just makes you terribly nervous and uncomfortable.
22 Things All Awkward People Know To Be True
  5. Flirting? I’ve never heard that word before. Does it exist in my dictionary? No.
  6. When you like someone and you want to try sparking up a conversation, but you never end up talking to them.
  7. You’ve always been bad at introductions.

You got to admit that we all have our awkward moments that we regret for days, months or even years. But, hey, at least we’re not bad people. 😉

Have you ever experienced something as awkward as the gifs above? Let me know in the comments section below! 🙂

Music For When You’re Dreamy

Aren’t we all daydreamers?

I love music and cannot survive a day without it. My taste in music depends on my mood to a great extent.
I don’t know about you, but I daydream way too often, and I have a playlist that I listen to when I feel this way. The playlist consists of around 50 songs, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you all. 😀

Songs in my ‘Dreamy’ Playlist:

  1. Years & Years-Desire
  2. Keane-Somewhere Only We Know
  3. 5 Seconds of Summer-Jet Black Heart
  4. Adele-When We Were Young
  5. Tyler Joseph-Can’t Help Falling in Love
  6. Ed Sheeran-Bloodstream
  7. One Direction-I Want to Write You a Song
  8. Taylor Swift-I Know Places

As you can see, my taste in music is not definitive, haha.
What’s your favorite dreamy song? Let me know in the comments section below. 🙂

Inspirational Quotes

I love quotes because they inspire me to become a better person.
My wall is covered with so many quote posters that you can barely see the wall color hiding behind them…Oops?

Anyway, today I want to inspire you all with some simple yet effective quotes:

  1. Some of us may be very competitive and in turn, always want to win. However, we must learn to accept defeat as well. Ultimately, it’s not about winning but about gaining experience.
  2. Challenging yourself is always a better idea than challenging someone else.
  3. Always keep one thing in mind, if you really love something then don’t be afraid to chase it.
  4. This quote always motivates me to get up early in the morning and get all my work done. In simple words, productivity leads to good things.
  5. Never be afraid to let your true colors shine. Everyone is unique and you’re one of them. Dare to be different!

I hope you are inspired by my favorite collection of quotes.
What’s your favorite quote? Share them with me in the comments section below! :D
