BB Cream vs. Foundation

BB Cream Brands

There are various BB Cream brands available in the market, but one of my favorites is Garnier BB Cream because it’s not oily and is perfect for combination skin.

Foundation Brands

Also, there are hundreds of foundation brands available around the world. I, personally, prefer using MAC Foundation because it gives a good coverage and glow to your skin.

What’s the difference between the two?

  1. Coverage:
BB Creams provide a fair coverage if you’re planning on using it every day.
Foundations, on the other hand, are much better if you want a good coverage and glow, perhaps when you’re going to a party or some formal occasion.
  2. Sun Protection:
BB Creams are amazing sunscreens as well. Instead of applying two layers of cream, you can just apply a coat of BB Cream once!
While many foundations do contain SPF, they’re lower than that of BB creams.
  3. Acne or Blemishes:
While foundation covers pimples really well, BB Cream not only covers them, rather it treats them too! BB cream serves as a magic wand when it comes to treating acne.
  4. Hydration:
BB Creams are more like tinted moisturizers, so if your skin is dry then opt for BB Cream instead of foundation.
  5. Shades:
BB Creams usually come in three main shades: Light, Medium, and Dark.
Foundations come in various skin tones, so if you find it difficult to find a BB shade to match your skin tone then you might just prefer using a foundation.

Overall, I prefer using BB Cream on a daily basis. And, on special occasions, I prefer using Foundation instead.

Really nice review! I prefer bb creams though they require little to no blending as opposed to foundations which need precise application 😘

    Great post!
i prefer foundation. I wear foundation whenever I leave the house (work, shopping, meeting friends…). My skin’s a nightmare. It’s very dry, sensitive and I often have dry patches from eczema. And the only thing that covers it all up is Max Factor’s Pan Stik. I love this foundation. It feels nourishing (I know, it probably isn’t) and it makes my skin feel more flexible – almost elastic. It’s the only foundation that can make my face look dewy – which I thought was impossible.

Anyway, I’ve once used a Miss Sporty BB Cream – it wasn’t good at all. But I have an Olay CC Cream (…somewhere). Now that’s a great product. I wore it under my foundation quite a lot this past winter and it was great. I really need to look for it. It must be somewhere in my drawer…

Thanks! 🙂 Yeah, I think it’s the skin type that matters most. I’ve never heard of the Pan Stik before, but it seems to be a good product. I’ve been waiting to try CC Cream for a long time now, hopefully, I shall buy it soon. 😀

Great review! I used to use the Dream Fresh BB Cream but found it too greasy for my oily skin- I imagine it’ll be great for drier skin though! I will have to give that Garnier one a try instead!
Please feel free to check out my product reviews on my blog Just Add Glitter:

Thank you! Oh, yeah. Some of the BB Creams are just not meant for oily skin. In fact, they increase the pimples on your face. You should definitely try Garnier out! 😀
      Sure, I’ll do that. 🙂
